April 2010 Report
President's Report - ARTHUR GREEN
Our first show for the 2010 year was held on March 21st. at the Marlboro MA Holiday Inn.
Bill, Linda, & daughter Lynn Cain put together another nice event for the members and general public attending this show. Bill was unable to attend due to health reasons and Moe Legare, Joe Hughes and Art & Linda Green assisted in getting the show room set up.
The show was well attended buy exhibitors, members and the public as well. All but 3 tables out the 75 possible were filled with all sorts of things that cut as well as related material. Custom knife makes were well represented by the regular NCCA Craftsmen plus Richard Wright, Steven Olszewski and Bruce Gillespie.
Bill Cain reminds us to book early for the next Marlboro show scheduled for July 25, 2010.
Don’t assume you have a table, call Bill (978)544-5348 or email Jckknv1@aol.com to reserve tables.
After the show a regular Board of Directors Meeting was held. In addition to the regular club business Larry Clifford gave the report on the Mystic Show, all is going well with the show being sold out.
A long standing very active Board Member, Treasurer, and Data Base Manager Moe Legare has announced his intentions to resign from his position at the Annual Meeting at the Mystic Show. Moe has gone above and beyond in bringing the club through our difficulties in the past several years. (Thanks again for all of your hard Work!) The NCCA is starting 2010 in sound fiscal condition, we need one or two members to take over these duties. If you are interested please contact me or another board member as soon as possible so we can be prepared to make the transition at our annual meeting on Friday the 30th of April. (Feel free to call Moe directly @ 401-769-6902 if you would like more info on what the position entails).
Our next show will be in Mystic, CT on the 1st & 2nd of May, see Calendar Page. For complete 2010 listings.
(Don’t forget about our annual meeting and election of officers to be conducted after set up on Friday night April 30th. All members are welcome.)
Since the January News Letter was published I have received the Annual Show award knives from Great Eastern Cutlery, the actual knives are pictured below. Get your display ready so you can have a chance of winning one of these traditional pattern American Made Knives.
Until July, Art
