President's Report - ARTHUR GREEN
We have had two shows since our last update in October. Our last show was held on November 14th at the Marlboro Holiday Inn. As always the show was a success, thanks to Bill, Linda & Lynn Cain. All but 10 tables were filled with a great variety of all things that cut. There was a good crowd of members as well as the general public, dispite the fact that we were in conflict with another show.
Our second try at a show in Bristol CT on October 17th was less successful. There were less tables sold this year and the club lost money for the second time but all those who set up and attended seemed to have a good time. Thanks again to Dominick and Moe for all of their efforts.
Regular Board meetings were held after both shows. We have been having problems with the web site updates since October but believe that we have the problem corrected. The board is still working on the possibility of having a one day show in New Hampshire. We have been having some logistical problems and hope that all can be worked out. A tentative date has been set for August 7th, see calendar page. Due to the increased expenses of putting on shows, the board voted to raise the table rental fee for one day shows from $40.00 to $50.00 and to increase the non member general admission for the one day shows to $5.00. The board also voted not to have another Bristol Show due to the overall lack of participation by the membership as well as the general public.
Our annual Raffle tickets are now available and have been mailed to all members in the current January News Letter, if you need tickets or additional ones please contact me.
Our next show in Marlboro will be on February 13th. Make your reservations early for this popular show and location so as not to be disappointed.
