Marlboro Show & Board Meeting Report

Marlboro Show The show was sold out again, all 63 tables were full and the attendance was good. The show continues to be a staple of the club and makes a profit to help offset our operating expenses and advertising budget with the help of the raffle. Thanks again to all who bought tickets and donated items. Everyone seemed to have a good time, Thanks again to the Cain Family for all of their efforts and another fine show!
Our Regular Show Meeting was held after the July 27th Marlboro show. All of our finances are back in line with all taxes paid to date. The club is doing well and the treasury is growing at a steady pace. The board voted to continue having the annual show at Mystic CT through 2010. It was the consensus to have a smaller show with a waiting list rather than have a larger show in a different venue, at a cost about three times the current cost, and not be able to sell all of the tables. Everyone agreed that the location is great and the hotel service is the best that we have had in some time. Board member Larry Clifford & family has agreed to take over the show in 2010 with the help of at least another person, (POSSIBLY YOU) Moe and Norm will provide assistance in the transition.
Saratoga Springs Show Our joint venture with the NEACA was held on the 20th and 21st of September. Our participation was poor with only 6 members setting up. The conflict in dates with the Marlboro Gun Show was a major factor but it is apparent that the Membership has spoken and I am doubtful that we will continue our clubs formal participation at this event. Possibly we will move the fall date back to E. Windsor of find another venue in New York State? Let me know what you think.
