October 2009 Report
President's Report - ARTHUR GREEN
Summer is over with preparations being made for our November Marlboro, MA Show. (See more details of the show on the Calendar page)
The July Marlboro Show was held on the 26th and was a success, as usual, thanks to Bill, Linda & Lynn Cain. A new table layout was developed by Bill and Moe. It provided for more room behind the table for exhibitors and kept about the same number of available tables so it worked out great. 64 tables were sold and filled with a great variety of Custom, Antique, Military, and Production knives and cutlery items. Don’t miss our November show at this popular location.
The New Show in Bristol Ct was held on the 4th of October at the Clarion Inn. The show met with favorable approval by all that attended. 63 tables were sold and the crown was better that we had been experiencing at the E. Windsor location. A great selection of all things that cut filled the tables. Thanks to Moe & Estelle Legare and Dominick Violante for all of their efforts.
The board of Directors met after the show and approved a show at this location in October 2010. This show will replace the 2010 East Windsor Show.
Also during the Board Meeting, the plan for the awarding of the certificate from the New England School of Metalwork (www.newenglandschoolof metalwork.com) that is good for one of their workshops, a $525.00 value, was approved. The board had received this certificate at the July Board Meeting. The certificate will be awarded at the Annual Show in Mystic, Sunday May 10 after the Annual Custom Raffle. All current members of the NCCA will be eligible to enter the drawing by placing their name in this separate raffle. Members must be present in order to win. Additional information will be provided in the next issue of the Club News Letter.
