July 2008 Report

Presidents Report - ARTHUR GREEN

ANNUAL MYSTIC CT SHOW AND BOARD MEETING REPORT

Left, custom maker Kelly Carlson & collector Bob Schulman discuss the fine points of custom cutlery. Our 26th Annual Show in Mystic CT was held on May 2ndĖ 4th with all 83 tables being sold with a waiting list. The Club made $3,269.52 profit on the show. A GREAT SHOW put on by Moe & Norm with Estelle and Elaine making sure everything went well, donít forget to thank them for all of their efforts. The attendance was much better, up about 20 %, from the previous year, partly due to the national advertising in Blade magazine, Knife World, Knife Forums and Show calendars and local advertising in community calendars and forums that were done by Elaine Papas and Barbara Cullen. The overall atmosphere was very positive and when the word gets around, I believe that the attendance will continue to grow. All seemed too Gene Vidal finding a perfect knife for Jon Raymon.excited about next years show with 33 of the table already paid for 2009, donít be disappointed - reserve your table early!

The Custom Knife Raffle Drawing was held on Sunday at @2PM with the revenue for this major club fundraiser up almost 100 % from the previous year. See complete list of winners below. Thanks again to all who made donations and purchase tickets.
