October 2012 Report
President's Report - ARTHUR GREEN
As many of you are aware we have been having trouble with our club web site. We have not had an update since our January one. The April updates were submitted but were never done. After many attempts to contact the company, OUT A KNOWHERE , that had been doing them, we finally realized that they were out of business.
We have since switched companies to Network Solutions which in turn has been purchased by Web.Com. We contracted with Web.Com to rebuild our web site, as close to our original format as possible, so as to allow us to make our own updates in a more timely manner, but there interpretation of what we wanted was far from acceptable. I have been working with them throughout the summer but it looks as though it is not going to be feasible.
The plan at present is to have Network Solutions do our update as submitted and to do web site marketing with them so as to make us more visible in the cluttered world of the internet.
All of this has taken more time and effort than I had anticipated hopefully the wait will be worth it?
Our last show was held in Marlboro, MA on the 5th of August, and as always, this venue continues to be a very popular event. Table sales were down from last year but the club still made expenses and everyone seemed to have a great time.
THANKS AGAIN to Linda & her daughter Lynn for facilitating another nice event for the members and general public attending this show.
Linda and Lynn remind us to book early for the next Marlboro show scheduled for November 11, 2012. Don't assume you have a table, so call Linda at (978) 544-5348 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve tables.
A regular Board Meeting was held after the show. In addition to the Treasurers and Clerks report, several issues were discussed and voted upon, most notably: the status of the clubs web site, the acceptance of board member Dominick Violante's resignation due to a new job and its commitments and the addition of new board members Myron & Mae Tupa and Bill & Beth Tyc.
Until January, Art
